The Dean of Students' Welfare shall look after the general welfare of the students and also provide appropriate encouragement for sound and fruitful relationship between the intellectual and social life of the students for their growth and development as matured and responsible human beings.

The Dean of students' Welfare, will arrange for guidance of and advice to the students on matters pertaining to:

  1. Organization and development of students' bodies;  
  2. Counseling and students' guidance facilities;
  3. Promotion of students' participation in co-curricular and social activities;
  4. Financial aid to students as per the decisions of the university;
  5. Student-Teacher and Student-Administration relationships;
  6. Career advice and campus placement;
  7. Health and Medical Services for the students as per the policy of the university;
  8. Residential life of the students;
  9. Arranging facilities for the students 'Educational Tours and Excursion, other than those prescribed as part of curriculum;
  10. Securing facilities for students for further studies in the country and /or abroad, and career advancement; and
  11. Any other problems of the students relating to the University.

Dean of Students' Welfare shall:

  1. coordinate the activities of Hostels and have power of shifting a resident student from one Hostel to another , if deemed necessary;
  2. Make arrangement with Railway and Airlines for the issue of concession tickets to students during vacations, for educational tours students’ participation in extra-curricular activities and Sports and for home town visits.
  3. shall co-ordinate and arrange the disbursement of all financial aids, scholarships, stipends, etc. to the students.
  4. The DSW will issue character certificates to the students after obtaining reports from the Provosts, the Dean of Faculty concerned and the Proctor in respect of the students.
  5. The DSW shall work for the welfare of the students as prescribed in the Regulations   and also as directed by the Vice Chancellor from time to time.
  6. Maintain the register of Alumni and make communications at times of necessity.
  7. Operate the budget of his Office; and
  8. Perform such other duties and discharge such other responsibilities, as may be assigned to him by the Academic Council/Vice-Chancellor from time to time.
