The term “Student’s Grievance” refers to the Grievance at individual level, which has been faced on account of overlook by the university. It refers to those kinds of actions /decisions taken by the University (officials) which lead to the discontent and dissatisfaction on the part of students.
The formation of Student’s Grievance Cell is to promote and maintain a conducive and unprejudiced educational environment where students are experiencing that; there has been an infringement of their rights. It is a measure to develop responsive and accountable attitude among university officials to ensure that, there is no laxity in terms of fair-deal with the students. It is to deal with the complex situations in a tactful manner to lessen the condition felt to be oppressive or dissatisfied. |
Objectives of Students Grievance Cell

To support, those students who have been deprived of the services of MANUU, for which he/she is entitled.

To make officials of the MANUU responsive, accountable and courteous in dealing with the students.

To ensure effective solution to the Student’s grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

Redressal of Student’s Grievances to solve their academic and administrative problems.
-
To co-ordinate between students and Departments/Sections to redress the grievances.

To guide ways and means to the students to redress their problems

Before processing an application to the “Student’s Grievance cell”, students should contact the concerned department directly i.e. Examination / DDE / Department and confirm the required documents in accordance with the nature of problem mentioned below:

Student's Grievance Procedure : |
 |
The grievance procedure is a machinery to sort out the issues between student and university. It is a means by which a student who believe that, he/she has been treated unfairly with respect to his/her academic / administrative affairs or is convinced to be discriminated. It is a device to reach the level of settlement of a problem. It enables to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the provisions of this document. Requirement of this procedure is only because many grievances of the students are not settled by their respective Study Centres / Regional Centres for various reasons beyond their control. It involves a process of investigation in which ‘Student’s Grievance Cell’ enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly confidential manner. Matters are disclosed to only those, who have a legitimate role in resolving the matter. Emphasis on procedural fairness has been given with a view to “the right to be heard and right to be treated without bias”.
Final report based on grievance received and resolved will be submitted to the Registrar and as per direction of Registrar further course of action will be decided and the same shall be intimated to the students.
General Instructions : |

For effective redressal of grievances, following are necessary instructions:

SGC can act upon those applications, which have been forwarded along with the prescribed proforma (available at Study Centres, Regional Centres and website: www.manuu.ac.in) accompanied by required documents in support of the grievance.

Application should be preferably forwarded by the Coordinator of the Study Center / Regional Director / Head of the Department, which ever felt convenient.

SGC shall take up only those matters, which have not been solved directly by the Examination Branch / DDE / Department.

While corresponding to Student’s Grievance Cell, a copy of the letter which has already been forwarded to the Examination Branch / DDE / Department and relevant documentary proof is necessary to be attached.

All the documents in support of grievances should contain proper signature and seal of the concerned authorities.

Grievances related to any kind of Fee paid to the university will be taken into account only after enclosing the copy of demand draft paid.
Exclusions : |

SGC shall not entertain following issues:
-
Decisions of the Executive Council, Academic Council / Board of studies and other academic / administrative committees constituted by the University.
-
Decisions with regard to award of scholarships / fee concessions / medals etc.
-
Decisions made by University under the Discipline Rules and Misconduct.
-
Decisions of the University in admissions of any courses offered by the MANUU.
