3. Purpose & Activities:

The Department of Hindi  Established and started its activities from the academic year 2007-08 with M.A, M.Phil & Ph.D Courses. 

The main purpose of the Department is to promote the Hindi language and Literature in the Non Hindi speaking area. Department of Hindi maintaining its strong relationship with the Urdu and Dakhini Languages. Interdeciplenory studies, research programmes and surveys are being conducted. Department has already produced one book on Dakhini language and literature.  Staff and students of the department are encouraged to learn Urdu Language to enable them to know the cultural relationship of Urdu and Hindi languages.  Department of Hindi also continuing Its research programs in the thirst areas including Feminist Literature, Dalit literature, Comparative Literature Muslim discourse and modern Theater.

4. Course Offered along with duration & Intake & Fees:  

(I)         M.A. Hindi IV Semesters. ( 2 years)

Intake – 39 Students

Fees:  Rs. 1325/-

* 1000/-p.m. Scholarship for all students.

(II)        M.Phil Hindi 

            Duration – II Semesters

            M.Phil Hindi  (Part-Time) – 2 years.

            Intake – 20  Students.

            Fees:  Rs.1475/-

           * 3000/-p.m. Fellowship  for all M.Phil regular Students.

(III)       1) PhD Hindi (Full time)

Duration – Minimum – 2 years.

                 Maximum – 5 years.

* 5000/-p.m.Fellowship  for all  Ph.D Students.

    Intake – as per vacancy.

2) Ph.D Hindi (Part time)

    Duration –   2 years

    Maximum – 7 years

    Intake – as per vacancy.
