Admission for the Academic Year 2013-14

The Department of Management and Commerce was established under the school of Commerce and Business Management with the introduction of MBA program in the academic year 2004-05. Apart from the regular management subjects which are an integral part of any management course emphasis is laid upon case studies in the respective functional areas, personality development sessions, guest lectures by experts from industry, seminars by the students on wide ranging topics, management games and industrial visits which help students in understanding the industry and work environment for comfortable adaptation for their career development. The faculty of the department is well experienced in facilitating the students with strong academic and research background.

The department also introduced M. Com course and research programs in Management Studies; M Phil and PhD from the academic year 2011-12. Since the course inception, the Department has been committed towards promoting high quality professional accounting. The course is designed by a diverse range of academic offerings & experience to a multiplicity of paradigms. The course structure integrates a balance of Theoretical Analysis & Professional practices. Students are trained by renowned faculty which seeks to prepare well equipped accountants who can tackle new emerging challenges in the market.

The research programs in the department promotes innovation, focuses on activities that can make a difference to problems that matter to industry and society and has a business-friendly attitude to foster external collaborations. The department which offers research in four major areas namely Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial Management and General Management, has a highly supportive research environment that nurtures and develops future generations of young researchers.
