About The Center :
Centre for Urdu Language, Literature & Culture (CULLC) is established with an approval of University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi in Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad to promote and protect the aesthetic and cultural values of Urdu Language, Literature and its historical consciousness. The foundation stone of the building was laid by Prof. Saifuddin Soz, Hon’ble Minister of Water Resource on 27th April, 2006 with the name Urdu Museum. Later its name was changed to Centre for Urdu Language, Literature & Culture and the building was inaugurated by Prof. A. R. Qidwai, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana on the occasion of 2nd Convocation of MANUU dated 16th June, 2007.
The Centre is established with the vision “Protection and promotion of aesthetical and cultural values of Urdu Language, Literature and its historical consciousness” and with the mission “to develop it as a combination of archives, museum, library, cultural research institution and wishes to be perceived as an authority in Urdu Language, Literature & Culture both in terms of collection and conservation”. Prof. Khalid Saeed, Professor Department of Urdu is the In-charge Director of this Centre. |
